Tyler Cormney · Founder, Cormney & Company
Just before turning 30, I asked: “What is my purpose?”
That wasn't the answer I was expecting. I was a Harvard MBA working in Silicon Valley, and all my friends were joining internet companies. It gave me the courage to leave the MBA career track I was on to pursue a career as a writer. I moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in a graduate writing program. While creating screenplays, I earned my living as an MBA admissions consultant.
Ten years later, I stopped writing screenplays and devoted myself completely to admissions consulting. For a time, it felt like I was giving up.
Then I realized that my clients are the heroes of the stories I help them tell — stories about what they’ve achieved and what they dream of doing. They go on to inspiring careers, and some of them are out there changing the world.
To exalt is to raise someone to a higher station.
That is exactly what I’ve been doing for MBA candidates at a crossroads in their careers. I am fulfilling my purpose. It would be an honor to help you tell your story and discover yours.
